Preventing fraud and corruption
The department does not tolerate fraudulent or corrupt conduct by its people, stakeholders, suppliers and customers. It has compliance, ethical and performance obligations to minimise fraud and corruption.
These activities can cause financial or non-financial loss to the department, and are detrimental to the interests of the organisation.
Code of Conduct
The behaviour of Department of Transport Staff is guided by the
Code of Conduct for Victorian public sector employees which details how staff should behave at work.
Preventing and detecting unethical behaviour
The department has implemented a number of policies and procedures to prevent, identify and investigate fraud and corruption. All department people and external contractors are encouraged to speak up if they come across unethical behaviour that could be fraudulent or corrupt.
How to report unethical behaviour
If you are concerned about the Department of Transport being involved in unethical behaviour that may be fraudulent or corrupt, please contact the Director Enterprise Risk Services on 9655 4525. All calls are treated seriously and there is a clear process for investigating allegations.
