The Department of Transport, along with VicRoads and other transport agencies, is responsible for public transport, roads and ports across Victoria.The Department derives its functions and powers from the Transport Act 1983.

Our mission is: Building a safer, fairer and greener transport system for all Victorians to create a more prosperous and connected community.
