Regional bus service improvements
The Victorian Government is introducing an extensive range of improvements to bus services in regional areas.

Barwon South West
- Allansford - started January 2005 - earlier and later services introduced on weekdays
- Colac - started 4 February 2008 - a new route to Elliminyt and extra services on the two existing routes
- Geelong - started 23 April 2006 - extra Sunday services introduced
- Geelong to Lara - started 30 October 2006 - additional services on the Thompson Road route
- Geelong to Leopold - started 1 September 2006 - an additional ten services on weekdays
- Geelong to Torquay - started 1 September 2006 - eleven extra services on weekdays, four extra services on Saturdays and Sundays, new services from Torquay to Wombah Park
- Hamilton - started 13 November 2006 - a town bus service operating 5 and a half days a week on 3 different routes
- Marshall - started September 2005 - new services from Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, Torquay and Waurn Ponds to Marshall Railway Station
- Mortlake to Warrnambool - started 20 September 2006 - new inter-town service being trialled under the Transport Connections Program
- Port Fairy to Warrnambool - started 6 August 2006 - extra weekday and weekend services
- Portland - started 11 February 2008 - extra weekday services and the introduction of Saturday services
- Warrnambool - started 6 August 2006 - additional late afternoon and evening services from Monday to Saturday; new Sunday services; new early morning service for industrial estates. Improvements are part of Stage 2 initiatives of the Warrnambool Public Transport Study
- Warrnambool to Ararat - started 26 September 2006 - new coach service introduced.

Grampians
- Ararat Town Bus Service - started May 2008 - extension three existing routes to provide 21 services during the week, 15 Saturday morning services and to all train and intertown services at Ararat Railway Station.
- Ararat to Warrnambool - started 26 September 2006 - new coach service introduced
- Ballarat Transit - started 23 June 2008 - new timetable with an extra 778 services a week, including 73 extra Sunday services.
- Ballarat - started 3 September 2006 - introduction of route variations to provide more direct services to meet counterpeak train services Ballarat Railway Station
- Ballarat - started 2 June 2006 - extension of Friday night services
- Ballarat - started 29 May 2006 - Creswick timetable increased, Creswick route extended and new Sunday services introduced
- Ballarat to Sovereign Hill - started 23 October 2006 - new coach service to and from Ballarat Railway Station that connects with the Goldrush Special train service
- Ballarat Transit (Miners Rest to Wendouree and Webbcona loop) - started 22 January 2007 - new Monday to Saturday hourly service to Stockland Village
- Daylesford to Ballan - started 29 May 2006 - new Monday to Friday commuter service
- Mount Egerton to Ballan via Gordon - started 29 May 2006 - new service to connect with Melbourne and Ballarat rail services
- Hopetoun to Horsham via Rainbow - started 12 July 2006 - new service
- Horsham - started 30 January 2006 - new town service introduced
- Horsham to Donald- started 26 July 2006 - new service
- Willaura to Ararat - started 11 July 2006 - new Thursday service to be introduced in addition to existing Tuesday service.

- Bendigo - started 3 September 2006 -new Bendigo Transit services to better connect with train services and provide improved evening and weekend services

- Echuca/Echuca South/Campaspe West - started 12 February 2007 - extra town service for growth areas and improved Monday to Saturday services
- Gisborne/Lancefield - commencing 2007-08 - new and improved integrated services including commuter services from Gisborne linking to the railway station, new services from Lancefield/Romsey to Gisborne and improved services to Riddells Creek and Sunbury
- Kyneton to Bendigo - started 5 February 2007 - improved connections from Kyneton, Malmsbury, Taradale, Elphinstone and Harcourt to access rail services at Kyneton and Bendigo by providing two return trips on weekdays
- Maiden Gully to Bendigo - started 6 November 2006 - trial of new service to Maiden Gully from Monday to Saturday
- Strathfieldsaye to Bendigo - started 18 October 2006 - increase services to six days a week with 10 new weekday and seven new Saturday trips
- Robinvale to Mildura - started 19 December 2006 - a new service that operates twice a week running via Wemen, Hattah and Carwarp on Tuesdays and via Euston on Thursdays
- Robinvale (Review) - completed September 2006 -a bus service review is underway to identify whether there is a need for extra services
- Woomelang to Swan Hill via Sea Lake and Ultima - started 27 July 2006 - new service

- Bright to Ovens Valley (Oxley, Milawa, Markwood, Everton) - started 3 July 2006 - extra services
- Kialla to Shepparton - started 20 November 2006 - improved town service
- Kiewa Valley to Mount Beauty - started November 2005 - pilot service that operates three times a week
- Seymour - started August 2005 - upgrade of the existing town service
- Wallan/Kilmore - started 29 January 2007 - introduction of new town services in Wallan and Kilmore and between the townships
- Wangaratta - commencing 2007-08 - introduction of a new service in the Yarrawonga Road area to cater for school students
- Whitfield to Wangaratta (King Valley) - started 29 January 2007 - new service
- Wodonga - started June 2003 - an extra 190 services were introduced on existing suburban routes
- Wodonga - started 1 September 2006 - introduction of a new service to cater for growth in school students accessing buses in peak times
- Wodonga - started 1 September 2006 - improved weekday and weekend urban services
- Yarrawonga - started 5 February 2007 - new service to link residential areas with the central retail precinct. It will also provide a bus link to Mulwala.

- Cowes to Wonthaggi - started 9 October 2006 - service frequency increased from weekly to five days a week return service
- Foster to Leongatha - started May 2007 - originally a six month trial service. Was extended for a further 18 months from May 2008
- Foster to Tidal River (Wilsons Promontory) - started 9 May 2008 - operates via Fish Creek and connects with the Yarram/Melbourne V/Line coach service
- Lakes Entrance town service - started 2 January 2008 - a combined bus and taxi service
- Latrobe Valley - started October 2005 - extra and new services introduced on the Moe-Morwell-Traralgon, Morwell-Churchill and Boolarra-Churchill routes
- Maffra to Traralgon and Sale - started 27 April 2008 - weekday service between Traralgon and Sale updated to run via Maffra and Tinamba. It also provides a connection to V/Line train services at Sale
- Mallacoota to Genoa - started 15 December 2005 - new service that operates three days a week
- Sale to Loch Sport - started 30 May 2005 - existing route upgraded to include an extra bus service, more time in Sale and a better timetable
- Sale to Seaspray - started November 2007
- South Gippsland and Bass Coast - various improvements to be introduced as part of a $14.7 million package in the 2008-09 State Budget
- Wonthaggi - started 9 October 2006 - new town service including five daily return trips to Cape Paterson
- Wonthaggi to Leongatha (via Inverloch) - started 9 October 2006 - one return service Monday to Friday
- Wonthaggi to Traralgon (via Inverloch, Leongatha and Morwell) - started 9 October 2006 - service frequency increased to a daily return service, Monday to Friday
- Yarram to Melbourne - started 9 May 2008 - new V/Line coach service.
