Why work at DOT?

DOT values individual contribution and encourages all DOT people to be their best in the work place.  We offer our people a range of opportunities including the chance to contribute to Victorian transport infrastructure, in a workplace where values are shared and diversity is respected.

As a DOT employee, you will have access to some exclusive benefits which are listed below. As part of the Victorian Public Service, additional employment conditions can be found at www.careers.vic.gov.au.

The Department of Transport offers its people:

  • Discounted gym memberships at the Grand Hyatt's City Club or the YMCA
  • Members have access to a range of gym equipment as well as group classes for competitive rates.

Social club

DOT has a very popular and active social club with regular monthly events scheduled. Social club members are also entitled to many benefits, including discount shopping vouchers, tickets to shows, concerts and sporting events, as well as restaurant and accommodation discounts.

Employee Assistance Program

DOT recognizes that your personal life and work life often impact each other so we offer DOT people and their immediate family members help and support through an external employee assistance program. This is a free service only available to DOT people.

Reward and recognition

The DOT Inspirational People Award is a formal recognition and reward program that recognises people who model DOTs values, who help shape our culture, and who contribute to DOT becoming a truly great place to work. Division based reward and recognition programs are also used throughout DOT to encourage and acknowledge people’s efforts.

Professional development programs

DOT is committed to ensuring all people have access to development opportunities that support ongoing development, enhance job performance and progress career aspirations. This is achieved by offering DOT people a range of professional development, formal and informal programs as well as access to industry conferences and events.
