Women in Freight, Logistics and Marine Scholarship
Since 2001, the Department of Transport has offered an annual $10,000 scholarship to a female, full-time or part-time student starting or completing a Masters, PhD, or postgraduate degree in the freight, logistics and/or marine-related fields.
The scholarship aims to encourage more women across Victoria into management positions within the freight, marine and/or logistics industries and help address the gender imbalance in an industry that has been traditionally male dominated.
The scholarship is currently being reviewed by the Department, in conjunction with a range of initiatives to boost female participation in this industry and create a more diverse workforce. Details for 2012 will be published following this review.
