A Workforce Strategy for Freight Drivers

Skill shortages, particularly for drivers, are projected for the transport and logistics sector. In 2010, the Victorian Government developed 'A Workforce Strategy for Road Freight Drivers' to collaborativily work with industry to help it recruit, retain and train the workforce needed to move Victoria's growing freight task.

The strategy looks at the key challenges for the road freight sector and identifies actions for government and opportunities for industry to respond to issues associated with recruitment and retention of drivers, and their training and skill development.
