Services start

Train services have commenced and the station is now open at South Morang.

The Minister for Public Transport rode the first train to South Morang, to mark the opening of the line and new station.

The Minister was joined by local Member of Parliament Craig Ondarchie MLC.

Open day

South Morang station was opened to the public on Saturday 14 April to give local residents a first look at their new station.

More than 1,000 passengers rode the special event shuttle services between South Morang and Epping, with many reporting an enjoyable and smooth ride along the new section of track.

Activation of South Morang rail line

The electricity supply for the new rail line was activated on Friday 16 March. Trains are powered by high voltage electricity which runs 24 hours a day. People are reminded to not enter any part of the rail corridor and to only cross the tracks at designated underpasses and overpasses.
