Just over thirty years ago, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II visited the almost completed Melbourne City Loop. The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh visited what was then named Museum Station on 28 May, 1980, eight months before the City Loop opened. Also shown in this video is The Queen officially opening the Queen Elizabeth Plaza above Museum Station. The station was later renamed Melbourne Central Station, and the plaza was replaced by the Melbourne Central Shopping Complex.
