New stations in Melbourne's growing suburbs are a step closer with the announcement of the preferred designer of the new stations. Construction will begin next year for the new station at Caroline Springs.

Project description

Caroline Springs is one of a number of new train stations being built in Melbourne's growing suburbs.

Building new stations is an important, practical step to serve our growing communities. The stations will serve current and future public transport needs and help people access jobs, study and entertainment.

Caroline Springs station will service a population that is expected to grow to nearly 25,000 within the next 10 years and reduce congestion at neighbouring railway stations.

  • bays for buses and taxi facilities
  • kiss and ride facilities
  • park and ride facilities
  • station featuring tactile tiles and security fencing
  • timetable and passenger information displays
  • closed circuit camera security surveillance
  • bicycle facilities.
